You set up a simple little website and enjoy marketing. This is the basic online business for anyone starting out, but your earning potential will not be very great unless you are continually building the presence up. There are actually two different ways to go about creating a successful online presence the first being setting up a dynamic website such as a wordpress blog and the second is creating many little niche websites. It is possible to make a lot of money by using both of these, but in my personal opinion it is much easier to set up one dynamic website then rank the sub pages high in Google for long tailed keywords. Either way you will be increasing the size of your website making it much easier to make money online.

To understand why it is important to increase the size of your online business especially when it is a dynamic presence you need to have a grasp of basic SEO. SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the process of optimizing a website both internally and externally so it ranks well within the major search engines especially Google. This is done through basically content updating, keyword placement, and link building. If you are running a blog then the first two can be done simply by writing a new post and making sure you use words within the title that are closely related to your website. The last factor of SEO (link building) has to be done by going to external sources such as article directories, general directories, and social websites.

The reason I prefer using one presence rather than multiple presences is when you build links you raise the authority of the page you are building links to. What many people don’t understand is you are also raising the power of the links on that page to internal pages within your website. As your main index rises in authority your sub pages will rise with it making it much easier to rank the sub pages or blog posts high in Google. This means less work for more return. It usually takes around a year before a website or blog has reached its full trust in Google and this is why I really don’t like creating many new little niche websites. It is much easier and more profitable in my case to write a post on my blog making sure the title I chose has a decent amount of traffic by checking it in Google Adwords Keyword Tool which you can find by doing a Google Search. I have found that posts without any links are actually ranking in the top thousand in Google without building any links towards them just with the pure authority of internal linking. It is your choice though if you are creating and marketing keep it up you will succeed.
